Bowie Knife No. 2508 is a substantial outdoor blade with a strong silhouette, traditional character, and a presence that is immediately noticeable in the hand.
Its 195 mm blade is crafted from VCV 150 carbon tool steel, hardened to 58 HRC and given a distinctive etched finish. At 45 mm wide and 4 mm thick, the blade has the broad, confident proportions associated with the Bowie tradition, while the overall weight of 574 g gives the knife a deliberately solid and powerful feel.
The handle is made from dyed exotic wood, chosen not only for durability but also for its individual grain and natural visual depth. Stainless-steel rivets introduce a cleaner, more contemporary detail against the warm tones of the wood, creating a distinctive contrast between traditional material and robust construction.
A particularly characteristic element of this piece is its sheath. Handcrafted from dyed cowhide box leather and complemented with beech wood, it becomes an important part of the knife’s overall identity rather than simply a protective accessory. The mix of steel, exotic wood, leather, and beech gives the complete set a rich, layered appearance.
Every part is individually shaped and finished by hand, giving serial number 2508 its own workshop character. Small differences in wood grain, surface texture, and finishing ensure that the piece cannot be perfectly duplicated.
